The Department of Finance and Services staged a complete fitout over 10 levels of the McKell Building in Sydney. Stage 1 consisted of 7 levels and was closely followed by the stage 2 works which spanned the remaining 3 levels. This extensive upgrade added value and increased the functionality of the existing space. This was a technical project for many reasons: it was very large and the specified acoustic privacy ratings were difficult to achieve given certain elements of the base building fabric. To achieve the desired acoustic environment, Trinity adapted tested acoustic systems. We are fortunate to have experienced project teams who can troubleshoot issues and keep the project tracking towards its handover. Each floor of this substantial project was completed in just 8 weeks, with the fitout teams mobilising quickly behind each level’s complete strip out to achieve the tight program.
