Trinity undertook a full refurbishment of two heritage-listed single-story buildings in Carlingford on behalf of Wesley Mission. The buildings were repurposed to operate as Intensive Therapeutic Care (ITC) homes for children with high physical needs, receiving care 24/7. The external works incorporated brickwork, concrete driveways and carports for wheelchair accessible vehicles. Careful consideration was given to the carport and connecting ramp to create a user-friendly space. The ramp’s entrance aligned with the tailgate of parked vehicles so that wheelchair users can disembark the vehicle and gain easy access to the Group Homes.

Scope of Work

Removal of hazmat material (asbestos in eaves, contaminated soil and lead dust in ceiling void)

Major roof repairs for both buildings

New driveways and carports in compliance with SDA guidelines for accessibility

Fire protection installation

Four new DDA compliant bathrooms

New mechanical ducted system for each building

Installation of ceiling hoists
