JIRT Penrith
This was a fitout for the Joint Investigation Response Team, a division of the NSW Department of Family and Community Services. Initially a new Intertenancy wall was constructed slab to slab, incorporating additional resistance layers, to separate the JIRT Tenancy from the balance of the
vacant floor.
The fitout scope included creation of offices, observable play room, interview and monitoring rooms, large conference room, staff breakout, accessible WC & shower, and open plan office with workstations. Client supplied furniture & security services that were coordinated and incorporated into our program.
A neutral but modern colour palette was chosen for the back of house areas, with the various public interview and statement rooms areas receiving splashes of colour, including a multicolour carpet tile arrangement in the children’s play room. A unique component of this fitout was the gun safe room, to be utilised by police staff, who occupy some of the offices, to discharge & store their fire arms. This room had to be fully lined with ballistics rated board, a multilayered board comprising of steel & plasterboard.
